Sometimes life can hit you pretty hard and we are all hardwired to respond in different ways; unfortunately some of those hardwired response methods suck. The Positive Spin ride is all about bringing awareness to those lousy ways of responding to tough times and ensuring we all know that when the mind is in a bad spot to reach out for help. Join us on June 22, 2019 for an untimed, low stress epic ride to help bring awareness to mental health and raise funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association. Sign up at www.positivespincycle.com/ | 200km and 100km Routes | Aid Stations | Good Times |
This is the picture of a winner. You know who else is a winner? If you want to be a winner too sign up for the Positive Spin ride and join us on June 22. Head over to www.positivespincycle.com/ to register.
Ladies and Gentleman, Please Read Zack's essay about his own experience with depression.
**Please share this post. If you, or someone you know is experiencing similiar feelings and struggling to cope. Talk to a friend. Talk to Zack. Talk to a physician. Reach out to anyone of the 199 Positive Spin cyclist or volunteers to talk to. We are here for you. . ~Zack Neufeld, thank you sharing your experience with depression with our cycling community and reminding us that it is ok for us to talk about depression. ------------- -------------
Here's an essay I wrote on depression. It was difficult to convey the ideas I've discovered in a depressive state, but here it's a bit clear. Give er a read and let me know what you think. As always, I'm here to talk if you need a little extra help.
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Who wants to win a sick Positive Spin jersey? To help spread the word on Mental Health, and make sure you look good and comfy riding your bike, we are offering jerseys for sale this year but we just cant decide which one - blue or white? Tell us your favorite color in the comments and we will randomly draw a name from the responses to win our awesome jersey that we trust you will wear while riding the event on June 22, 2019 which you can also sign up for at
Have you heard the French cycling proverb "If you can ride 160km you can ride 200km?" No? Either have we! But, we know it to be true so we are cutting the 160km route out of this years ride. Part of this event is mental awareness and sometimes fitness requires us to be stronger mentally so we encourage you to push that little bit harder and sign up for the 200km course. This is not a timed event so if you are done after 180km its ok to head back to @oldyalebrewing early; just save the rest of us a beer. Sign up at www.positivespincycle.com | June 22, 2019 | Proceeds to Canadian Mental Health Association | #rulenumber5

A couple weeks ago a few members of team Positive Spin were on hand @oldyalebrewing to receive a cheque from the @chilliwackfd which were the proceeds from their BBQ at the Parking Lot Party on the day of our ride. In total thanks to our riders, sponsors and proceeds from the Parking Lot Party we were able to donate $4830 to the Canadian Mental Health Association! We thank you all once again for making this event a success and look forward to seeing you all, and your friends, next year.
If you are still looking for photos of the event please check out www.ipolpophotos.com and @ipolpophotos will donate all proceeds from purchases of event photos. Were you stoked on riding 215km and want a bigger challenge? There is still time to sign up for the #TF360 at www.terryfox.org/tf360/...

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2nd annual Positive Spin Ride this past Saturday and an even bigger thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers. The weather was perfect, the aid stations were well stocked, the riders were smiling (most of the time) and the beer was cold at the end...what more could we ask for! So thank you again for your support for the Canadian Mental Health Association and to help bring awareness to mental health. If you can think of anything that you feel will make this event better in future years please reach out to us as we would love your feedback! ...
We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful sponsor like iPOLPO photos on board with the Positive Spin Cycling event. iPOLPO photos will be providing a photographer for the event. This looks like darn near perfect weather for a really long bike ride on Saturday; 23 degrees and no wind! On-line registration closed last night but you can still sign up on the day of the event. This is a ride, not a race, so whether you are doing the 200km, 160km or 100km route it will be a good time. This is also not a timed event so if you signed up for the 200km and at 180km you decide you really need that beer you can peel off early. Or, if you mentally signed up for the 160km and you are feeling strong then join us on the 200km! This is all about having fun and raising awareness about Mental Health. See you Saturday! ...
Bring Cash! As you hopefully know by now there will be a Parking Lot Party @oldyalebrewing for us to enjoy after the Positive Spin Ride and the best part is the Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society will be firing up the BBQ with good grub by donation which will help support the Positive Spin Ride. Since we will all be hungry after the ride bring some cash to throw down for some BBQ'ed treats! Make it a family event, if your significant other is not riding tell them to head down for a little Yoga by donation offered up by @namastehikingco also in support of our Positive Spin Ride. The kids can sing and dance to some fine live tunes while we sip some of the Fraser Valleys finest beers! Don't forget our friends @giantlangley are also offering free tunes ups this week to registered riders so if your bike looks like this guys bike you may want to pay them a visit. We thank you all for the support. ...
Not every road is a dream road so don't forget why we are doing this ride! As stated by "Chief Ride Organizer" Ms. Lambert "Your commitment to this ride supports the Canadian Mental Health Association’s mission to create understanding, dispel the stigma and promote recovery associated with mental health issues." And for that we thank you supporters and participants. So when you roll out on Saturday remember why we are doing this but also remember it is a ride, not a race! It is not about achieving Strava KOM's and seeing how quickly you can drop your buddy from the pack, its about a good time and raising awareness for the many with mental health issues. www.positivespincycle.com...
LAST DAY FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION IS WEDNESDAY AT 4:00PM; you can still register on the day of the event though!
