The Terry Fox TF360 is happening on Saturday August 12th - next weekend! A few of us are doing this epic ride for the first time and some have completed it in the past. Either way, it's going to be a day to remember!

This will be the third edition of this fund raising event. It is an epic 360km single day group ride from Sunpeaks to Valemount BC. The ride is spectacularly scenic, ending just 100km from the Alberta border near Jasper at the trail head to TerryFox Mtn. There is neutral support provide by Cahilty Racing, lead and follow vehicles and nutrition provided. It is not a race, but the pace is quick enough to finish in daylight. Short breaks will be scheduled every 36km.

This event is free of charge to participate but is a fundraiser for The Terry Fox Foundation Fundraiser so please help get the word out.

Details can be found on the Terry Fox TF360 Facebook page. Please "Like" the page.

The website has an FAQ section and contact phone numbers if people have questions about the event.

Do good things, drink good beer: Burn Fund Community Fundraiser

June 24, 2017, 11:00am - June 24, 2017, 9:00pm

The Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society's major fundraising goal is to pledge $75,000 towards the new BC Burn Fund Centre, and we want to help them get closer to that goal (and need YOUR help!). Join us on June 24 at Old Yale Brewing for a day filled with good beer, and good people doing GREAT things! + The Chilliwack firefighters will be cooking up a storm and selling mouth-watering BBQ meals (100% of the profits will be donated to the BC Burn Fund Centre). + We've created some custom OYB x Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society growlers that will be for sale at this event for $10 (100% of the profits will be donated to the BC Burn Fund Centre). + Positive Spin - a ride to promote mental health awareness JUNE 24, 2017 cyclists will also be joining us for a celebration after their big (and very important!) ride in the community. + We'll also have an outdoor beer garden where you can purchase OYB beer, hang out with awesome people, listen to music, and soak up the sun! Let's come together as a community to raise some money for the BC Burn Fund Centre. Cheers!

The Positive Spin is an unmarked course so it would be a great idea to have the route(s) on your Garmin if possible. How to do that you ask? Well, we can help you!

1. Plug in your Garmin to your computer
2. Navigate to the route on Strava (www.positivespincycle.com/event-info/the-routes/)
3. Click Export then click on your desired filetype, either TCX Course or GPX Track
4. If your computer prompts you to save the file to a specific location, place it somewhere memorable like the desktop.
5. Using the Finder, My Computer or other tool on your computer, open up the drive associated with the Garmin, usually labeled Garmin
6. Open the Garmin folder located inside the Garmin drive
7. Click/drag the exported file from your desktop to the NewFiles folder
8. Safely remove the Garmin (Eject on an Apple machine) and unplug it from the computer
9. After powering it on click the Courses icon and locate your route

Riding as a group is happiness so with that in mind, we'll be leading 2 different paced groups for the 200km distance. The first will be a fast paced 30km/hr+ average pace and the second will be for a no drop pace of 25km/hr average. Of course this isn't mandatory, but it will definitely be more fun! New and old riding buddies enjoying the first weekend of summer... what could be better? #friendswhoridetogetherstaytogether #arideformentalhealth #sharechilliwack #FraserValleyCycling photo credit: Matt Lazzarotto
